Use of social media for journalistic advantage

March 24, 2013

There are various social media sites that can enhance journalism.

Apart from linking with friends, Facebook is a great tool to find people.

You can also use it to get story ideas. People post a lot of information on Facebook and it is a great place to pick on what is happening around you.

Twitter is the ultimate news site. Tweeter allows you to follow people and individuals and stay up to date with the information they post on their timelines. It allows you to reply and retweet information to your own followers.

Tweeter allows a journalist to keep up with current updates of news, find sources and information. It  allows a journalist to give information and publicize stories.

A point to remember is information on social media needs to be scrutinized. Not everything written is true.
